Best White Elephant Gift Ever

Alex came down from Salt Lake to spend Christmas Eve with my family. We were doing the annual white elephant gift exchange my siblings and I do every year and I didn't expect this one to be any different from other years although I was excited to have Alex there. Little did I know Alex had talked to my sister-in-law, Jamie, a few days before and they made a plan so that Alex could propose during it. We drew numbers and I got last pick (little did I know, that was planned). I really wanted the gift my brother opened so I told Alex I was going to steal that one on my turn. However, when it got to his turn, he stole it for me. I told him to just open a new one and I would steal it since I was last and I wanted him to get a gift for him but he stole it anyway and I didn't think anything of it because lets be honest, he is always doing sweet things like that for me. Anyways, it finally got to my turn and there was one present left which was a fairly big square box. When I opened it there was just another wrapped box inside. It was supposed to be the white elephant from my brother Devin and I figured he would think it was funny to wrap the gift in multiple boxes. So I continued opening it until I got to a little brown box. I had no idea what was in it but when I opened it and saw the ring Alex knew I loved, I was completely shocked. It took me a few seconds to really process what was happening and then I looked over at Alex and asked "are you serious?!" and he said "yes" and went down to his knee. I was just completely shocked because he surprised me so well so I kinda freaked out for a bit longer and then he asked me the big question and I said yes!

Anyone who knows me knows that I tend to be an over-thinker and I am really indecisive but the decision to marry Alex has been the easiest decision I've ever made in my life. Although we've only been dating for three months, they have been the best three months of my life so far and I am so excited to start our lives together. Our relationship has developed quickly but so smoothly. It has been so natural and amazing. I have never had a doubt in my mind about him. I feel so lucky to have found everything I have ever wanted. I remember people telling me that "when you know, you know!" and that used to frustrate me and I would think that maybe that just doesn't happen for everyone but it did. I have just known. I couldn't be happier. I love you alex ryan stark! You are my forever.
